Child Safety Standards

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Our commitment

MyFamBam is a private space for families to build a family tree, share memories, and stay connected. We are committed to keeping children safe and to a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAM) and any behavior that endangers minors. This page describes our published standards and the steps we take to comply with applicable child safety laws, including those implemented by Google Play.

Minimum age and account eligibility

MyFamBam is intended for users aged 13 and older. We enforce this in the following ways:

  • Users must be 13 years of age or older to create an account. Users under 13 are not permitted to register, sign in, or submit content.
  • When we become aware that an account belongs to a user under 13, we disable the account and delete associated personal data in accordance with our privacy policy.
  • Children may appear in a family tree only as profile entries created and managed by an adult relative. These entries are not login-capable accounts and cannot post content, send messages, or interact with other users.
  • Adults who create profile entries for minors are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate permission to share that information with their family.

Prohibited content and behavior

The following are strictly prohibited anywhere on MyFamBam. Violations can result in immediate account suspension, permanent termination, data preservation for law enforcement, and reporting to the relevant authorities.

  • Child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAM) of any kind, including generated, drawn, or virtual depictions.
  • Sexualization or grooming of minors, including sexual comments, solicitation, or the exchange of sexual content.
  • Content that endangers children, including instructions, encouragement, threats, or facilitation of harm.
  • Impersonation of minors or creation of fake underage profiles.
  • Non-consensual sharing of a minor's personal information, including doxxing, tracking, or surveillance.
  • Any attempt to contact a minor outside of a family member's supervision for the purpose of harm, exploitation, or solicitation.

In-app reporting

Users can report child-safety concerns directly from inside MyFamBam. Reports are routed to our safety team for review.

  • Every post, comment, and profile can be reported from the "…" menu using the "Report" option.
  • Reports can also be sent to safety@myfambam.app (monitored by our safety team) or through the Help page in the app.
  • Reports related to suspected CSAM or imminent child endangerment are treated as high priority and reviewed on an expedited basis.
  • Reporters can remain anonymous to the reported account. We never disclose reporter identity to the reported user.

Moderation and review

MyFamBam combines automated safeguards with human review.

  • All uploaded media is scanned for known CSAM signatures. Matches are immediately blocked, preserved as required by law, and reported to the relevant authority.
  • User-generated content can be reviewed by our safety team upon any report and during routine audits.
  • Accounts found to violate these standards are suspended, with appeal available by contacting safety@myfambam.app.
  • We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and preserve data as required by applicable legal processes.

Reporting to authorities

Suspected child sexual abuse material and related incidents are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States and to equivalent regional authorities where required. We comply with applicable laws including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and any relevant regional mandatory-reporting laws. When legal process requires, we preserve data and cooperate with investigations.

Safety team contact

Designated point of contact for child-safety matters and CSAE-prevention compliance:

  • Safety email: safety@myfambam.app

We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and to act on credible reports as quickly as possible, with priority given to any situation involving a minor.

How parents and guardians can help

Because MyFamBam is a family product, guardians play an important role in keeping the experience safe.

  • Only invite trusted relatives to your family tree. Invite links can be revoked at any time from Settings.
  • Review profile entries you create for minors and remove anything you no longer wish to share.
  • Talk with the minors in your family about reporting anything that feels uncomfortable.
  • Report concerns immediately using in-app reporting or by emailing safety@myfambam.app.

Updates to these standards

We review these standards regularly and update them as our product, applicable laws, and best practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page and noted in the "Last updated" date above.
